Neues aus Cabarete

Sohrab berichtet.....

My name is Sohrab Rezaei, I am 16 years old and my passion is baseball!

I have spent a little over two weeks at Ruiz-Bull Academia de Baseball over the winter break. It was one of the best baseball camps that I have ever done!

It was a unique baseball (life) experience for me, because I got to face some of the best pitchers in the world that are generally not found in my age group in the United States, fielding on uneven fields, and playing with kids with a deep passion for the game of baseball. I was able to fine tune my game by learning from top Dominican coaches at Ruiz-Bull Academia de Baseball on a daily basis, 24/7 baseball! At my young age, this was a life experience since the game of baseball is my passion.

It was an interesting entrance to the country, as my flight was five hours delayed. It was my first international trip by myself. I was supposed to land at midnight in Santiago, but ended up getting there at 5am! Alfre waited at the airport for five hours for me and drove me two hours to the Academia! I shared my room with my new friends from Deutschland! I speak a little German and had a great time with them, socializing and improving my baseball skills, and understanding each other with the international language of baseball!

My daily routine was as follows: Morning beach workout with the coaches, which consisted of strengthening and conditioning. We then would go back to the Academia for a yummy and nutritious breakfast prepared by our wonderful cook, Ani! After breakfast our day continued with hitting practice and instructions by the coaches at the Academia. The coaches have helped me fine tune my hitting technique and have given me a lot of advise that have improved my efficiency as a hitter. We then would eat lunch, prepared once again by Ani, and head to the fields for either game with the local teams or more fielding practice. The game experience is unique, because of facing great pitchers, playing on uneven fields that makes the game much harder than usual and an atmosphere that is completely new and builds character! After the games or fielding practices we would head back to the Academia for evening fun, which included hanging out with the local kids. I made great dominican and german friends there that I am planning on keeping in touch with. I even got a haircut from the local barber!

Over the past two weeks I was able to improve my game significantly, thanks to the coaches and staff at the Ruiz-Bull Academia. The Academia makes the camp experience unique because of the individual and customized attention one gets as a player and the loving, caring and safe environment that the Ruiz-Bull Academia de Baseball creates for the players! I am planning on going back soon! Thank you!  Sohrab Rezaei😍
